You’ll arrive just after 10 in the morning and have some time to settle into your luxury hotel, The Four Seasons, which is perfectly located near Circular Quay, the historic Rocks precinct and within view of the famous Sydney Opera House. Over the next three days you’ll explore the all best bits of this beautiful harbourside city and the countryside surrounding it. But this afternoon and this evening you can relax after your long flight and get to know your neighbourhood.

After enjoying a full breakfast at The Four Seasons, you’ll make your way down to Circular Quay, Sydney’s main ferry terminal. At 12:30 you’ll board your Seafood Lunch Cruise around Sydney Harbour, where you’ll enjoy a delicious buffet featuring chilled oysters, mussels, ocean prawns, succulent fish plus a full range of non-seafood and vegetarian dishes, dessert and cheeses. Top this all off with million-dollar views of Sydney Harbour for an enjoyable, relaxing and unforgettable afternoon.

Today we leave Sydney to explore the quaint towns and grand landscapes of the majestic Blue Mountains. Just 90 minutes from Sydney by car, the Blue Mountains has some of the country’s most dazzling natural attractions. Your guide will expertly explain this wild terrain, with its deep valley troughs gouged out over millions of years. You’ll enjoy the dramatic views at Wentworth Falls, Echo Point, Narrow Neck and Cahills Lookout, and plenty of other spectacular activities.

We fly to Melbourne in the morning. The next stop is St Kilda, a charming seaside suburb in marvellous Melbourne. Over the next day or so you’ll get to know this beautiful bayside city. On every street and lane-way you’ll find shopping, dining and cultural experiences to discover, and your guide will show you why Melbourne is the world’s most liveable city.

Phillip Island, just 90 minutes by car from Melbourne, is where you will see Australia’s little penguins and sleepy koalas in their natural habitat. The world-famous Penguin Parade happens each night at dusk and tonight you’ll have front row seats as thousands of these adorable sea birds emerge from the ocean and waddle up the beach and into their burrows.

Australia’s Great Ocean Road is one of the world’s most scenic coastal drives and today you’ll get to discover it for yourselves! You’ll see the towering 12 Apostles, get up close to native wildlife, and take in iconic surf breaks, pristine rainforest and misty waterfalls, and explore surf towns and inspiring seaside villages. You’ll stop overnight in Port Campbell before a big drive to Mount Gambier in the morning.

Mount Gambier is a mid-way stop on your journey to South Australia and it offers plenty of scenic spots to explore and enjoy. Nestled on a picturesque volcanic landscape surrounded by vast pine tree plantations, it is known for its beautiful Blue Lake, whose water turns a dense blue in November. The area is also known for its many sink holes and caves. You’ll stay at The Barn; a lovely property set in 5 acres of lush gardens and eat at the renowned Barn Steak House.

Over in the Adelaide Hills region of South Australia, you’ll visit Hahndorf – Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement. Settled in 1839 by Prussian Lutherans bravely seeking religious freedom on the other side of the world, Hahndorf’s picturesque colonial charm remains remarkably intact. It still has a strong German flavour most evident in the smallgoods outlets, bakeries, pubs, restaurants and cafes that line the bustling main street. You’ll stay overnight in Hahndorf to really enjoy its charm.

A highlight today is a 3-hour lunch cruise aboard a steam powered paddle boat on the glorious Murray River, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the sharp cliffs, backwaters, plant life and wildlife. Then, in the evening, you’ll board the ferry to Kangaroo Island, where you’ll check in at the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Retreat and spend the next few days exploring this pristine wilderness

Today you’ll take the ferry from Kangaroo Island and make your way to Adelaide, where you’ll spend two days visiting its many sites and attractions. As the fifth-most populous city of Australia, Adelaide had an estimated resident population of 1.3 million. It is a sophisticated and cultured city with great food and a pumping arts and live-music scene. You’ll get to see many of its attractive neighbourhoods and pristine beaches.

You’ll head off to Australia’s ‘Red Centre’ today and fly to Alice Springs. Some highlights of your visit will be Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kata Tutja (the Olgas) and Kings Canyon. Our guide, also a German-speaking guide, will welcome you and your group at the airport.

Today we relax a bit and get used to the outback. Maybe we’ll explore the Reptile Centre or the Royal Flying Doctors.

Today we make our way towards the King’s Canyon Resort. You’ll be traveling around 500 kms which is a 6 to 8-hour drive, but there will be stops along the way at Stuarts Well, Erlunda, Mt Ebenizer and Kings Creek station, time permitting.

Today you’ll visit the majestic Kings Canyon, a huge canyon 270m high with sheer cliff faces, lush forests, walking trails and swimming holes. From there you’ll make your way to Uluru (Ayers Rock), which is one of the world’s great natural wonders. Over the next days you’ll stay here and discover the mythology and rock art of this icon of Australia. Then you’ll explore Kata Tjuta, a group of large domed rock formations also known as The Olgas.

A definite highlight for today will be your afternoon helicopter flight over Ayers Rock and The Olgas. For your final night of the tour, we’ve saved the best for last! Your Night at Field of Light Dinner begins with a hotel pick-up and transfer to the remote desert location with majestic views of Uluru. As the sun sets on the horizon to the music of a didgeridoo, you’ll enjoy gourmet canapes and chilled sparkling wine. As darkness falls and the coloured lights of the 50,000 glass spheres gently come to life, join your table of fellow travellers for an exceptional three-course menu infused with bush tucker flavours.

Today we experience Kata Tutja (the Olgas) by foot – ‘from the normal perspective’. We have another memorable event in the evening as we will see the ‘Field of Lights’ as the sun sets over Ayers Rock. As an option, you could also watch the night sky ignite with countless stars, settle back and listen to our resident star talker decode the southern night sky.
